Series: Famous Views of Kyoto
Kyoto meisho no uchi
Provenance: Tadamasa Hayashi (Lugt 2971), his mark at the bottom left corner.
In this series of ten seasonal views of beauty spots in Kyoto, Hiroshige may be working up ideas from his trip to the city as part of a delegation to present a sacred horse to The Emperor in 1832. Fine impression, fine colour and condition, very light, unobtrusive trace of a vertical fold at the center.
