Don Brown

British , 1962 -

Don Brown was born in Norfolk, and studied at the Central School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Brown's work has focused on portraits of his wife, echoing an interest in representational perfection. Brown painstakingly sculpts a clay prototype that is then enlarged and refined, later to be covered in gesso for a seamless surface. Brown then photographs the sculptures to flatten the three dimensional works. His works have been collected by major European museums.
