Hans Collaert

Flemish engraver, Hans Collaert was born in Antwerp about 1545. After working several years in his father’s studio, he traveled to Rome to perfect himself in his art. His engravings created after Rubens, are quite highly esteemed. He left many works, among them a “ Life of Saint Francis, “ 16 prints; a “Last Judgment,” folio and “Biblia Sacra and the History of the Church,” after Rubens.
