Robert Moskowitz

American , 1935 -

Robert Moskowitz is a contemporary painter living and working in New York City. His work is held in national museum collections such as The Museum of Modern Art, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He studied art at The Pratt institute in the late 1950s and was heavily influenced by the intersection of movements such as abstract expressionism, minimalism, and pop art. His first solo exhibition with Leo Castelli Gallery in 1962 followed the inclusion of his work in a major exhibition organized by the Musuem of Modern Art called Art of Assemblage, which included artists such as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and Robert Rauschenberg. Most recently his work has been seen in exhibitions with Gavin Brown and Peter Blum.
