Hans Sebald Beham, born in 1500 is known as one of the "Little Masters" or Kleinmeister (because of the diminutive size of his engravings). He studied with Albrecht Dürer in Nuremberg, but in 1525 was expelled from the region along with his brother, Barthel Beham for denouncing religion. After a few unsuccessful attempts to return to Nuremberg, Beham left and worked in Munich, Frankfurt and Ingolstadt until his death in 1550.
