Jackie Battenfield

American , 1950 -

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1950, Battenfield studied at Pennsylvania State University in 1971 and at the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University in 1978. Her first solo exhibition took place at Kern Gallery in University Park, PA and since then, she has participated in countless other solo, two artist and group exhibitions.

In 1977, Battenfield received the Judges Award at the Marietta College National Exhibition in Ohio. She also received the Grant in Painting from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in 1991. She served as the project coordinator for the Artists in the Marketplace Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts from 1992-1994 and in 1993, she was commissioned to produce a scroll painting for Janis Brenner and Dancers of Danspace Project Performance, NY.
