Born in Paris, Laurent Schkolnyk studied drawing and etching at the Beaux Art School in Nantes, France. He later studied with Professor Guimezanes, who taught him the mezzotint technique.
Schkolynk is a master of three-color mezzotint prints. In this process he makes three different mezzotint plates and prints with three primary colors. As these colors mix on the prints they create a full spectrum of colors from bright reds to rich blacks.
Schkolnyk has had one-person exhibitions in Paris, Tokyo, San Francisco and Seattle. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions in France, the United States and Asia.
