Dasha Shishkin

Russian , 1977 -

Dasha Shishkin was born in 1977 in Moscow, Russia. She later moved with her parents to New York where she went to Parsons School of Design and later to the Rietveld Academy of Arts in Amsterdam. She is a 2006 MFA graduate of Columbia's School of the Arts. A painter who works on different surfaces as well as the wall. She incorporates drawing and painting in her installation work. She has participated in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, P.S. 1, the Kunsthalle Hamburg, and Grimm/Rosenfeld Gallery in Munich and New York, where she has recently had two solo shows. Her work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich. She currently lives and works in New York
