Helen Phillips (1913-1995), printmaker and sculptor, was born in Fresno, California. She studied at the California School of Fine Arts with Ralph Stackpole between 1932 and 1936. In 1948 and 1960 she taught sculpture at the California Art Institute. One of her sculpture commissions was the Fountain of all Nations for the San Francisco 1939 World's Fair.
Phillips' work has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions and she is included in Modern Sculpture by Carola G. Walker. Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art New York, Bank America World Headquarters, De Young Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Dallas Museum of Contemporary Art and the Albright-Knox Museum.
