John Bachmann

Landscape draftsman and lithographer, John Bachmann was active from 1850 to 1877. His town views are considered to be some of the finest of the 19th Century.

In 1850 Bachmann completed a view of New York City and in 1851, a bird’s eye view of New Orleans. He also completed views of Boston and Superior, Wisconsin. Bachmann worked for several firms including Sarony & Major and Peter S. Duval.
