Michael Canning was born in 1971 and lives and works in County Limerick. He studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin; the Limerick School of Art Design, Limerick; School of Fine Arts, Athens, Greece. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sculpture from the National College of Art & Design before completing a Fine Art Painting Masters degree in 1999. In 2003, Michael was awarded the Royal Academy’s prestigious Hennessy Craig Prize. Michael’s work has been shown widely across Ireland, the United Kingdom and internationally, and is represented by Hilsboro Fine Art and Waterhouse and Dodd, London.
