From the set of twelve prints for the portfolio Kleine Welten.
Kandinsky designed this important series of prints in typically geometric style. He made 4 prints in each of the main media - intaglio (drypoint), woodcut and lithograph. He made six in colour and six in black only. The works demonstrate his ability to cross all the media of graphic art in expressing his powerful abstract images of this period.
Examples of this work are in important museum collections including The Metropolitan Museum, and The Museum of Modern Art New York, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh, The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra The Lenbachhaus, Munich, and elsewhere
