The Richard Hamilton Acquisition Prize sponsored by Champion & Partners
Funded through the generous support of Champion & Partners, the Richard Hamilton Acquisition Prize provides up to $10,000 to support a museum's purchase at the Fair. The Philadelphia Museum of Art was the recipient of the 2012 prize which funded their purchase of a 1969 trial proof aside from the edition Not Wanting to Say Anything About Marcel, Lithograph A by John Cage.
In naming the prize, Champion & Partners pays tribute to the artist Richard Hamilton, who inspired their own appreciation of prints, and his profound influence on printmaking. It was conceived to enable museums to acquire significant prints for their collections and to inspire individual collectors by illustrating the profusion of affordable museum quality works on offer at the IFPDA Print Fair.
The 2013 Richard Hamilton Acquisition Prize will be announced at the Fair's Preview on November 6.
Institutions who wish to be considered for 2014 may make their request in writing to the IFPDA Foundation.
