Peter Halley

American (born 1953)

Born in New York, Peter Halley attended Yale University and received a M.F.A. from the University of New Orleans. His geometrical abstractions interpret the structures of computer chips and prison cells -- structures that, for him, function as a kind of blueprint for society. In addition to an active career as a painter and printmaker, he will be serving as the Director of Graduate Studies at Yale University Art School.
