Red Grooms

Red Grooms was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1937. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago and the Hans Hoffman School of Fine Arts in Provincetown, Massachusettsand before moving to New York in the 1950s. He lives and works there today. From his early involvement with the Pop artists in their "Happenings," he has become a major chronicler of urban life through his three dimensional life-sized sculptures and multiples, and his two-dimensional drawings and prints.
