Yuichi Hasegawa

Japanese (born 1945)

Born in Aizu, the artist was influenced by Kiyoshi Saito and started making woodblocks around 1970. His reduction woodblocks are printed with oil-based ink which adds to their lustrous texture. Hasegawa has also mixed lacquer resin to some of his inks.

His artworks can be viewed at Cincinnati Art Museum; Art Gallery of New South Wales, Australia; Hamburg Museum of Arts and Crafts; Singapore National Museum among others.
