Neil Canning

Born in Enstone, Oxfordshire, Neil Canning studied in the studio of a professional artist in preference to enrolling in an art school. In 1990 he moved to Wales and in 1997, to Cornwall. His paintings, though abstract in form, represent the effects of weather on land- and sea-scapes. After a decade exhibiting at the New Millennium Gallery in St Ives Canning moved to Lemon Street Gallery, Truro in 2010. His prints have been made at Advanced Graphics London since 1995 and he continues to make monoprints and editioned silkscreens in the studio. Canning was awarded an honourary doctorate by the Exeter University in 2011.
