John Cage

John Cage was one of the most important composers of the 20th century. Through his avant-garde music and his printmaking, Cage sought to awaken people to the sounds and sights of the surrounding world. Cage developed unconventional techniques such as manipulating traditional instruments, scoring silence, and using fire and smoke in his etchings. His graphic works relate abstractly to these concerns.
