Jacques Bellange

An etcher and painter, little survives of Bellange's work. What remains are forty-eight engravings executed between 1611 and 1616. Thought to have been both a portrait-painter and a theatrical artist for the Duke of Lorraine, much of what remains of Bellange's output are religiously themed prints and drawings, demonstrative of the influence of the School of Fontainebleau.
