Stow Wengenroth
American
(1906–1978)
Birthplace: Brooklyn, NY
Education: Art Students League, the Grand Central School of Art, Eastport Summer School of Art, Maine.
Career: Wengenroth will always be remembered for his lithographs of New England although he also created many memorable images of Brooklyn, Long Island and New York City. As with many great artists he was more interested in drawing on another stone than printing the one he had completed. Printing was left to the great lithographers, George Miller and his son, Burr Millar, who printed all of Wengenroth's 369 lithographs.
