Painter, etcher and engraver, Charles Alvah Walker was born in Loudon, New Hampshire in 1848. He was largely self- taught and is credited with developing the monotype print process.
From 1884-1909 he exhibited frequently at the Boston Art Club, where he also served as Vice-President. His works were also exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the National Academy of Design and the Corcoran Gallery.
