Nicola Tyson

The themes of Nicola Tyson's body of work range from explorations of the unconscious to keen statements on self-identity, sexuality and desire. Her prints articulate psychological depth and formal explorations of the figure, leading to images that are wholly original and, at times, bizarre. Tyson tends to depict solitary figures against minimal architectural features or an empty background. The figures are often contorted, enhancing Tyson’s enigmatic compositions. Tyson completed her artistic education in London and currently lives and works in New York.
