David Salle

American (born 1952)

David Salle was born in Norman, Oklahoma in 1952. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the California Institute for the Arts, where he studied under John Baldessari. Salle had his first exhibition at the age of 23 in Los Angeles, California and he has since earned the reputation of one of the most influential representational artists of the second half of the 20th century. Salle lives and works in New York City.
