Kenzo Okada

Japanese (1902–1982)

Dealers:

Kenzo Okada was born in 1902 in Japan, studied painting in France, and arrived in New York during the heyday of Abstract Expressionism. Okada's work utilizes Eastern and Western techniques - leaving space empty to convey depth, an Eastern practice, and also using painterly brushstrokes, a Western method. His compositions bridge the divide between the two artistic traditions.
