Totoya Hokkei

Born in 1780, Totoya Hokkei was originally a fishmonger. He learned printmaking under the great master Katsushika Hokusai and was considered to have been one of Hokusai’s best students. Hokkei’s work consists mostly of illustrations and surimono.
