Note: According to the 17th cen. publisher/collector Mariette, this engraving represents the scene of Martha Leading Mary Magdalen to Christ from the chapel in S. Trinita. There are two documented drawings by Giulio Romano, who was greatly influenced by his master Raphael. This engraving closely follows the Romano drawing in the Chatsworth Collection.
Condition: An exceptional early impression, trimmed to the borderline, with a hint of the usual vertical centerfold
