Gustavo Victor Goler
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1962, Gustavo Victor Goler was raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico among numerous Latin American art conservators and restorers. He spent his early years apprenticing in the conservation studios of his family. Goler studied at the University of New Mexico and earned a degree in Graphics and Advertising Design from the Colorado Institute of Art.
Recently Goler has been researching the works, techniques and history of New Mexico and European and Latin American carvers. Goler has a vast knowledge of iconography and religious themes. In addition to producing bultos and retablos, he has also mastered the technique of lithography. In 1996 he executed a number of stone lithographs at the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
