Michigan native, Donald Furst received his B.A., M.A. and M.F.A. at the University of Iowa where he studied with Mauricio Lasansky.
Furst’s mezzotints depict everyday life, as in his “421 Nights” series of scenes encountered along the highway, as well as his mysterious compositions of stairs and ladders. Concerned with night or other conditions of limited lighting, Furst’s prints inspire the viewer’s interpretation. Furst is a full-time professor of art at the University of North Carolina.
