Edmund de Waal
Edmund de Waal was born in Nottingham, England. Under the tutelage of Geoffrey Whiting, de Waal studied ceramics at The King's School in Canterbury, and then became his apprentice for two years after graduating. In 1983, Edmund studied at Trinity Hall and later, obtained a Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation Scholarship where he studied the Japanese language and Japanese ceramic technique. His works can be found in over 30 international museums, including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Tate.
