Caio Fonseca was born in 1959 and grew up in New York City. He traveled to Barcelona, Spain in 1978 where he studied until 1983. In 1985, he moved to Pietrasanta (Lucca), where he worked until 1989. After spending two years in Paris, Fonseca returned to New York where he has a studio on East Fifth Street.
His work has been featured in one-man exhibitions in the United States, in Seattle, WA; Aspen, CO; San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; St. Louis, MO; Durham, NC; and Houston, TX.
