Mabel Dwight

American , 1876 - 1955

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1875, Mabel Dwight received her formal art education at the Hopkins School of Art in San Francisco. During a visit to Paris in 1927 she became skilled in the technique of lithography and afterwards, her career was mostly dedicated to printmaking. During the late 1930’s she participated in the Federal Arts Project in New York City. Views of daily life and commonplace activities were often the subject matter for Dwight’s prints.
