Carlos Almaraz was a Mexican American artist. An advocated of the Chicano movement, Alvarez had a MFA from the Otis Art Institute (now Otis College of Art and Design) and served as one of the founders of Los Four collective. As a member of the Los Four, Almaraz worked to draw support and attention to the Chicano street arts movement. Though predominantly a painter, Almaraz was also a printmaker. His work is included in many institutional collections worldwide.
