Umberto Boccioni

Italian , 1882 - 1916

Boccioni, painter, sculptor and engraver, was trained at the Academy of Roma and Venice.
After a sojourn to Paris, Venice, Padova and Russia, he settled in Milan in 1907.

In 1910 he became one of the founders of the Futurism movement which he eventually abandoned returning to the C├ęzanne style.

Most of his engravings were produced between 1907 and 1908, and are comprised of about 30 etchings and drypoints.
