Born in 1954, Michael Byron earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Kansas City Art Institute in 1976. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1981. Most recently, Byron has lived and worked in St. Louis, where he is Associate Professor of Art and Area Coordinator for Undergraduate and Graduate Painting Programs at Washington University. Byron’s work has been exhibited across the United States and in Europe. In 1989 he received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and during the same year, he was included in the Whitney Biennial.
