Syd Browne

American , 1907 - 1991

American painter and etcher Syd J. Browne was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1907. He attended the Art Students League where he studied with Eric Pape and Dumond. He was a member of the Society of American Etchers in Brooklyn, the American Watercolor Society, the Southern Printmakers, the Salmagundi Club, the Philadelphia Watercolor Club and the New York Watercolor Club. Browne’s works were exhibited at the Paris Exposition in 1937, the World’s Fair in New York in 1939 and the Art Institute of Chicago in 1939.
