Draughtsman and etcher, Leonard Brammer was born in Burslem, Stroke-on- Trent. The majority of his works depicted architectural subjects, mainly of the “Five Towns” in Staffordshire. Brammer studied at the Burslem School of Art and at the Royal Academy of Art from 1926 to 1931. He exhibited at the Royal Academy after 1930 and at the A.R.E. in 1932. He also exhibited at the R.E. in 1956 and with Vincent Lines at the Twenty-One Gallery in 1933.
