Theodore Wujcik was born in 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. He studied fine art at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit and completed post-graduate work in lithography at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Wujcik is a Tamarind master-printer and co- founder of the Detroit Lithography Workshop. From 1970 to 1972 he was the shop director of Graphicstudio at U.S.F.
Wujcik received a research and creative scholarship grant from the University of South Florida, a printmaking fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a grant from the Ford Foundation and an award for graphics from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation. He has also received grants from the Richard Florsheim Art Fund and the National Endowment of the Arts through First Night International. The Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, Florida held a thirty-year retrospective of Wujcik’s work in 2000.
