Richard Treaster was born in Lorain, Ohio in 1932 and studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art. From 1966 to 1980 Treaster taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
The medium of watercolor has always been his favorite for exploring ideas of realism. He has exhibited throughout the United States in one man and group shows. The focus of Treaster’s work is the area of realism, primarily devoted to capturing the flow of light over still life objects.
