Italian painter and engraver, Antonio Tempesta was born in Florence in 1555. He was a pupil of Santo di Tito and Giovanni Stradano. He became known for his series of engravings on hunting scenes and battles. Among his most famous works are, “Grotesques of Scala Regia”, “Triumph of Love and Fame” and “View of Rome”. In addition to paintings he completed more than 1,400 prints.
