Jennifer Bartlett, a prolific painter and printmaker, was born in California and received her M.F.A. from Yale in 1964. Since the early 1970s, she has focused primarily on grid-based interpretations of environmental subjects. Bartlett's work is best recognized by her frequent inclusions of colorful plaid patterns and a consistent interest in elements of her landscape, although her imagery has become increasingly varied. She currently lives and works in New York City.
