Born in Edinburgh, UK in 1937, printmaker, Mick Moon studied at the Chelsea School of Art in London from 1958 to 1962 and the Royal College of Art in London from 1962 to 1963. From 1973 until 1990 he was Senior Lecturer at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. In 1982 he was Artist-in- Residence at the Prahran School of Art and Design in Melbourne, Australia.
Moon’s first solo exhibition was at Waddington Galleries in London in 1969, with subsequent exhibitions held there throughout the seventies and eighties. Moon received a Major Arts Council Award and First Prize at the John Moores Liverpool Exhibition in 1980. In 1984 he received the Gulbenkian Print Award and in 1994 he was elected Royal Academician.
