Will Mentor

American , 1958 -

Born in 1958, Will Mentor has held a long, successful exhibition history since the early 1980s when he completed his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has had multiple solo shows at P.P.O.W. Gallery, New York, NY and the Des Moines Art Center. Mentor was also former professor at the University of Iowa and is currently teaching at St. Michael’s College in Vermont. His artwork is within major museum collections such as the Brooklyn Museum, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and the Milwaukee Art Museum, WI. Of his printing-making, Mentor writes: “In my lithograph, I attempt to find a new pictorial and psychological space by locating it at an intersection between botanical illustrations, things-to-do lists, phone message pads, and diaries.”
