Lisa Nankivil lives and works in Minneapolis. She received her BFA degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In 2004, she was awarded the Jerome Foundation’s Fellowship for Emerging Artists, and in 2011, received an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Nankivil has had solo exhibitions at Spanierman Modern, New York; Thomas McCormick Gallery, Chicago; and the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art, Minneapolis.
She has participated in group shows at the National Art Museum of China, Beijing; International Print Center New York (IPCNY); Chelsea Art Museum, New York; Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, North Adams, Mass.; Turchin Center for Visual Arts, Boone, N.C.; Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona; Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe, N.M.; Minnesota Museum of American Art, St. Paul; Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Highpoint Center for Printmaking, Minneapolis; and the Soap Factory, Minneapolis.
Nankivil’s work can be found in the collections of the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, Minneapolis; the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona; the Borusan Center for Culture and Arts, Istanbul, Turkey; as well as numerous corporate and private collections in cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Miami, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., and Geneva, Switzerland.
