Garo Antreasian

American , 1922 -

Born in 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Antreasian studied with Will Barnet and Stanley William Hayter in New York. He began producing color lithographs in the 1950's while teaching at John Herron's Institute in Indianapolis. As a lithographer, he promoted the art among American artists throughout the 1960s and 70s and has been an active member of the Tamarind Lithography Workshop for many years.

In Los Angeles, Antreasian served as the technical director of Tamarind and then went on to serve as an advisor and director of the workshop after it's move to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
