Jenny Holzer

American , 1950 -

Installation and conceptual artist, Jenny Holzerā€™s studies include general art courses at Duke University from 1968 to 1970, then painting, printmaking and drawing classes at the University of Chicago. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Ohio University in Athens in 1972. In 1974 she took summer courses at the Rhode Island School of Design. She entered the Master of Fine Arts program there in 1975.

In 1977 Holzer moved to New York and her first public works appeared around Manhattan in from 1977 to 1979. Other works by Holzer appear on T-shirts, tractor hats, stickers, metal plaques, park benches and sarcophagi.
